Preheat oven to 400°F. Place dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and baking powder) in a large bowl and stir with a whisk.
In a separate bowl, combine milk, apple sauce, oil and eggs. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and combine, Mix with a whisk until the mixture is smooth and clump free.
Spray your donut pans with non stick spray. Next pour batter into a large freezer bag and seal. Carefully snip a small corner of the bag off (about 3/4"). Pipe the batter carefully into the donut pans, filling only 3/4 of the way full.
Bake the Donuts for 10-11 minutes or until the donuts are slightly brown at edges and bounce back when touched. Remove pans and let cool for about 2-3 minutes. Carefully remove donuts and place on a wire rack to continue cooling.
For the Glaze
In a saucepan, place butter and heat over low to medium heat (making sure not to burn the butter). Once butter is slightly melted, add in the brown sugar and mix well with a small whisk.
Next add in the confectioners sugar and 1 Tbsp of milk. Whisk well until the consistency is between slightly thick but, smooth and silky. (you can add a small amount of milk at a time until you reach the desired consistency. Add in the apple pie spice and mix well.
Drizzle the glaze over the cooled donuts
