A New Way with Old Ways….

It has been a LONG time since I have written or done anything with the blog. I have countless photos and recipes to share but, I was feeling as if I honestly didn’t have the oomf or drive to want to come back to this… not because I don’t still enjoy cooking and sharing (on the contrary, I am someone who enjoys teaching others) but, I didn’t find the drive to want to do the same thing as I was doing before AND am honestly exhausted with all that has come with food blogs and the relentlessness of so many who criticize food blogs heavily.

Honestly, a lot has been exhausting with trying to keep so many “content” when it comes to the digital world…but, I kept thinking ‘I NEED to do something different for ME and not for the sake of keeping others content and happy’. So, as I went through the spring and relentless summer of no rain, I kept thinking and wondering what THAT exact thing was that I enjoyed but, that was also partially aesthetically pleasing.

In my search both externally and internally, I thought about my love for all things vintage. I am a sucker for old cookbooks, vintage knickknacks in the kitchen and around the house. I find myself thumbing through old books and old recipes that were either written for me or those that I feverishly wrote while watching PBS (and there was NO pause or rewind button for live TV) Then it came to me!!

I have always been complimented on my penmanship as I was a child of learning “script” or what many call cursive (and I still call it script as it was taught in elementary school) and I love old recipe cards! I wanted something DIFFERENT so it came to me…not wanting to spend countless hours of my time trying to fight technology at times, I want something that is not only a part of me (a genuine part of me) but, something that reflected my true loves. Cooking and Vintage.

So my friends, I am excited to share with you a few of my recipes MY way and share with you, a little piece of what actually moves me. I hope you enjoy it! (and if it’s not your cup of tea, that’s ok too!)  You’ll see more handwritten recipes and for those that need a bit more explanation, you may get a typed recipe.  Either way, this is the way I hope to approach the blog from now on.
