Strawberry & Blueberry Protein Smoothie

 Protein smoothies have been my Go-To for so long whether it is for breakfast, as a post workout meal, afternoon snack or just a quick pick me up.  I have SO many recipes and options on flavors but, this one is my personal oldie but goodie.  Feel free to substitute the milk for any milk of your choice, my personal favorite is Almond Coconut milk.  

In terms of the protein powder, you can honestly use ANY of your personal favorites just make sure that for this recipe, it is a vanilla one.  It can be a whey one, a casein one (which is a slower digesting protein), pea protein, hemp, anything you choose!

My personal favorites are Vega One Vanilla Protein which is a vegan protein and as well as Quest Vanilla Milkshake Protein Powder which is a protein blend of whey and micellar casein.                                                                                                       

Ingredients

  • 3/4 Cup Almond Coconut Milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • 2 Tbsp Oats (uncooked)
  • 1 Scoop of vanilla protein powder 
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 Cup frozen blueberries and strawberries (combined)
  • Ice

Directions

  1. In a blender combine all of the ingredients above.  (Make sure it is a blender that can crush ice)
  2. Blend well and enjoy! 

Tips & Tricks: Add in ground flax to up the fiber in this delicious drink!
